Benchmarks What is Benchmark
Benchmark is a scheme managed by the Heating & Hot water Industry Council (HHIC) that ensures installers are responsible to carry out best practice in the installation, commissioning & servicing of domestic heating and hot water appliances.
Benchmark requires that all Heating installations are carried out by a competent person, to manufacturer's instructions so that it works safely and at its best possible performance, and complies with Building Regulations in England and Wales.
Benchmark gives Heating manufacturers an assurance that appliances have been fitted to their requirements, and therefore guarantees warranty and customer access to any after sales support.
Customers shall receive documented evidence "log book" (provided by the manufacturer but installation details completed by the installer) that their product complies with Benchmark. This will also include requirements for servicing and maintenance of the appliance.
