Central Heating Programmers
A
programmer will allow you to control the times central
heating and hot water
is switched on and off, and so only allows your boiler to heat your home
and hot water as needed, saving you energy and therefore money.
Programmers are available as 2 channels which allows separate control for heating and hot water or 3 channels, such as the Horstmann H37xl, which allows control of hot water and two heating zones for larger homes.
Programmers are also available as either 24 Hour, providing the same setting from day to day, 5/2 day options, enabling different setting for weekdays and weekends, or as 7 day options, as the name suggests allowing different settings for each day.
Programmers are commonly a digital clock type set up, though some are available as a “mechanical” type clock the Remaha Avanta one channel clock is an example of this, these are normally suited to combination boilers, being directly installed in the boiler fascia
